The more conventional Thai hotels will offer a basic service with a private bathroom, bed linen and towels provided. Guesthouses are the cheapest option for accommodation in Thailand and have a reputation for being used primarily by backpackers on a very tight budget. They are simple, no frills beds in either dorms or private rooms, with the minimum of fuss.

The peak season for Thai Hotels is December to February, and the low season is May to August, which is the rainy monsoon season. The climate in Thailand is tropical all year round, with high humidity levels, and temperatures ranging from twenty-eight to thirty-five degrees Celsius. The Thai climate has three seasons. From November to February it is cool with little rain, making this period around Christmas and the New Year the most popular time to visit. From March to June the temperature is at it's hottest with a stifling forty degree heat. The Rainy season is from July to October, with tropical monsoons affecting practically all of the country. Ko Samui is an exception to these seasons with its peak period being in May to October, and its rainy season in November to February.

There is a great supply of accommodation, no matter what your budget. Thailand attracts an enormous number of tourists each year, but this does not detract from the fantastic surroundings, Thai history and culture, or the exotic cuisine. You will find exactly what you are looking for with plenty of choice available. Thailand is predominantly Buddhist, and traditional in its outlook. English it taught in schools and is fairly well spoken in all Thai major cities and tourist destinations. All in all you will find that hotels in Thailand suit a range of budgets, and have great exotic holiday experiences and destinations, to attract everyone.
